What Are People Saying About
Me?
A
special thank you to you for your staff for seeing me through the very
successful sale of my family home. The decision to sell my home was an
emotional one and I could not have accomplished it without your conscientious
and heartfelt help. Paola and Kimberly were incredible helpmates as they
graciously led me along a very unfamiliar set of tasks and
deadlines.
I
was especially impressed with your thorough dedication to all the paperwork and
making sure that everything was in place to insure a clean escrow. I only
do this once in a lifetime and I was truly in unfamiliar waters. Most of all I
am thankful for your continued check up calls and encouragement when I would
become confused and anxious.
It
felt great to have such a true professional by my side --Prudence

Carrie Sherriff managed the sale of our Mill Valley house this
summer with a successful outcome. It was a complicated sale for a myriad of
reasons and Carrie navigated the entire deal with the practical wisdom of her
considerable experience and a remarkable sensitivity, kindness and
professionalism. Carrie has dedicateion perseverance, patience and a keen
business sense.
If
you are lucky enough to be in the position to work with Carrie, don't pass it
up. I stand behind her 100%-you will not be disappointed --Erica
Johnston Apollo
I
recently concluded the sale of a house in Mill Valley in which I was
represented by Ms. Carrie Sherriff. As the house had a market value
somewhere around a million dollars I was very concerned that the matter be
handled with intelligence, professionalism, integrity and humor.
In
the interests of full disclosure (so dear to the hearts of real estate
professionals everywhere) I must reveal that my selection of Carrie was driven
largely by the length of our acquaintance which is nearly 20 years.
That having been said, I can now say that I doubt very much if I
could have better met my qualifications through any other method of
selection. A transaction which I feared might be fraught with trauma was
smooth, comfortable and, well, fun. "i's were dotted, "t"s were crossed, things
I didn't think about were thought about anyway.
I
can now recommend Carrie, and do so without reservation, on the basis of
long friendship and on personal experience of her expert, intelligent and,
well, fun representation.
Carrie is one of a very small number of real estate brokers
with the ability to both produce top quality representation and to exhibit
genuine humanity. Do yourself a favor. -Jared Dreyfus
"My wife and I would like to express our gratitude for your
excellent services in marketing my late aunt's Mill Valley home. My wife
and I have been involved in numerous real estate transactions over the past 10
years, and this is the first time we have been unqualifiedly satisfied with the
services provided to us by a realtor (we are probably pretty tough
customers).
For example, we asked for open houses; you provided open houses
virtually every weekend the house was on the market. We wanted the house
aggressively priced, but not to the point of chilling traffic; your pricing
calculation proved to be a perfect balance. We wanted to be kept informed; you
telephoned after each open house, telephoned during the week whenever there was
any buyer activity, and even sent a fax of a crucial contingency removal to our
Lake Tahoe hotel! Our calls were always promptly returned.
The extensive pricing work you did at the inception of the listing
proved invaluable in later assessing offers, and it was also very helpful
in satisfying the other heirs that the offer we accepted was a good one. The
work you did to ensure the integrity of the offer (i.e., ensuring the pending
sale of the buyer's present home was highly likely to close), your diligence in
getting contingencies removed, and your artful nurturing of a potential backup
offer were ultimately critical to closing the sale. Also, your skill and
knowledge in working through the probate aspects of the sale are, I believe,
quite uncommon among realtors and well justified your recommendation by the
estate's attorney." --Ed Jesson, Supreme Court of California, San
Francisco
"In the past ten years, courtesy of CBS News, I have moved from
Toronto to London to Paris to San Francisco. Bouncing across oceans and
continents like that teaches a few things about relocating.
The
most important factor in getting settled someplace new, Sue and I have learned,
is finding that one local person who becomes our expert guide. We feel
fortunate that when we arrived in San Francisco YOU became our expert guide.
We
arrived here with little knowledge of the Bay area but with stubborn ideas
about the kind of home and neighborhood we wanted to live in. We wanted an
older home that had the same kind of charm as our Victorian place in Hamstead
Village, London. We wanted a neighborhood that offered as much as possible the
same convenience as our apartment in the 17th Arrondisement in Paris. Since we
were moving to Northern California we also wanted a view, a garden, sun and
redwood trees. And all of this at an affordable price.
Unlike some others you did not tell us we were crazy. Your
patient assistance found us "the house of our dreams". But your help didn't
stop there. You also taught us about Mill Valley, Marin, the whole Bay
Area.
We
now hope to stay here forever. But if we do have to move I regret to inform
you that we shall not ask you to be the agent for the sale of our house. We
love it so much we will never part with it. Do you handle rentals? Thanks
for everything. --John Blackstone, CBS News, San Francisco
"After interviewing several others, we "hired" Carrie to sell a
very special (over a million dollars) Mill Valley property for us, in the
Spring of 1997. Months later, after a very successful conclusion, we often say
to each other that we are so glad that we chose Carrie! Now we have a chance to
express it in writing as a recommendation to anyone wanting an excellent real
estate broker in Southern Marin.
Carrie is honest and honorable; we were impressed with her
integrity. Throughout the entire transaction, Carrie was wonderful to work
with. She was always very professional, took care of business efficiently and
thoroughly, represented us to our advantage, gave us excellent advice, looked
after details, always saw the 'big picture', and was also patient and
balanced.
In
addition, Carrie was extremely hard working. She dealt with inspections,
with tenants, with city officials and with our property managers. She knew good
local people to refer us to for additional information and advice, when it was
needed.
We
have owned, bought and sold real estate property in California for over 3
decades, and we have worked with many brokers. We have had successful
experience with many of them. However, Carrie is outstanding and a pleasure to
work with. We will definitely hire her again, and highly recommend
her. --Harry and Vivian Snyder
"Lettie joins me this time in offering our breathless admiration
for the outstanding job done by you and your daughter Kimberly in the
preparation, listing and nearly instantaneous sale of our home on the shoulder
of Mt. Tam.
Of
course as this is our third transaction with your expertise, why are we
surprised? It must be due once again to the completeness of the total
package of services. Once again we are served up a cornucopia of polished
details: like the minute-to-minute explanations of the multitude of complicated
forms and disclosures. Never have we felt patronized in even the smallest way.
You have always been there to generously and humorously explain the
unexplainable!
Kimberly's sure hand and wonderful eye for décor
transformed our home from merely striking to a stage for an Architectural
Digest Award. Like many of our friends who saw the transformation, we too
wondered why we were selling.
Thank you again and again for your very warm and personal
attention. Where do I go to initiate a national advertising campaign
celebrating your style and integrity? --Gage A. Schubert
"I
have had the pleasure of knowing Carrie Sherriff both personally and
professionally for seventeen years. When my father passed away last March,
he left several pieces of property to the estate which needed to be liquidated.
As executor of the estate, I am responsible for liquidating these properties
for the benefit of the estate. Because my wife and I live in Los Angeles, I was
unable to oversee the liquidations personally. There is no one else that I
would trust with this responsibility except for Carrie.
Not only has she dealt with routine maintenance, landscaping and
even tenant issues, but also she has been able to quickly locate qualified and
interested buyers. Her follow-through has been exceptional in keeping me
appraised of each issue every step of the way. I have been able to rely upon
her expertise and good judgment throughout this process. Her knowledge of the
market and her marketing skills are outstanding. Without her assistance, these
transactions would have been far more lengthy and difficult." --Mark
Hodge
"I
just wanted to thank you again for all the hard work and conscientiousness you
put into helping us find our new homesite at 361 Ridgewood. Most people are
quite shocked to hear that we found a 3 ½ acre property in Mill
Valley.
Other realtors I have dealt with in the past have not been as
thorough and dedicated as you were with us on this project. I remember
telling you that we wanted to find out about every piece of property in
southern Marin that was ¾ of an acre or more, regardless of whether it
was up for sale or not. I feel you fulfilled this request completely, and I was
very pleased that most of the properties you uncovered for us were not listed
in the Multiple Listings.
I
was also impressed with the fact that whenever we got a lead from someone
regarding any piece of property, you were already very familiar with it and
also with several years of history regarding each particular
property.
Thank you also for investigating extra details and issues even
when they were not requested, such as zoning, sewer connections, previous
design approvals and other related subjects.
If
you need a reference for any new clients, Susan and I will be very glad to
wholeheartedly vouch for your capabilities, good attitude and effectiveness."
